H. reidi show them off!

Whoopie!!!!! My first ever Brazilian Seahorse!  I just received her from seahorse source and she is radiant! Named her Rio of course.   Her color is a deep rich pineapple, but pic made her look a little light.

She is beautiful Laura!  I am sure even more so in real life.  So how many ponies do you have at this point?  I am kind of jealous as I only have the space and time for my 1 pair but I am very happy for you as your herd expands!

Thanks am grinning ear to ear! She is my seventh, and last unless I set up a third aquarium!!!! I keep girls so no breeding.  I do have one male in my other tank but a local breeder will take any fry I have. .

I actually ordered 2 girls but when they came it was a girl and a boy.  I have enjoyed watching them court but plan to only keep girls from now on as well.  I also have been giving my fry away as it is too confining at this time for me to think about raising them.  I have wondered when I upgrade my sump to a 20g long and increase my water volume if I could safely add 1 more seahorse?  If I ran the sump high I would have probably 50 gallons of water in the system.

I think you could.. but the spots on Adam worry me, ..my free advice wait six more months and see if you have anymore issues.   Or start a new tank!!!!! 😉

Yes, I agree totally.  I wasn't thinking of adding any more seahorses in the near future.  In fact I am more thinking way down the road.

BTW, yesterday I looked Adam over real close and he is continuing to improve.  Only 1 spot is see-able and it is nearly imperceptible.  I have been doing 50 % water changes every week for some time now but I think it is paying off.

Not my reidi but these are some of the most colorful horses I have ever seen. I particularly like the green color of the soon to be daddy seahorse. The pix were taken on 6.9.2003.

Thank you for sharing! Beautiful, magnificent!! Such colors!!!!  The only species I find close to their beauty is the zebra seahorse.  If they are ever available as captive bred I would want one.   ;)

Laurasea you are not the only one who has fantasized about the zebra seahorse. As far as I know they have never been in the hobby, but I wish.

Lovely! Dan's are always the best.

I'll try to get some pictures tomorrow. They're mostly brown/muddy. :/
