Pets!

« posted: 5 years ago »
I suspect many seahorse keepers are animal nuts in general (I know I am!) so I thought I'd see if anyone wants to post some pictures of their non-seahorse pets. Below are a few of mine (Not pictured, Oni a siamese and Sid one VVEEERRRYYY old black cat.)
  • H. erectus, H. comes, H. kuda, H. zosterae, Doryrhamphus excisus, Bryx dunckeri, Corythoichthys flavofasciatus

Fantastic pictures....I LOVE animals.  I do believe that other people on the street call us the crazy couple with a gazillion animals!

Is your dog in the second picture a shepherd of some sort?  He is gorgeous!  They both are!

This is my sheepdog, Harvey.  He is my absolute heart dog

And Bruno, our crazy Min Pin

And onto the cats.....
MeMe

Lovely Bug

This is Bubba or Attack Cat as he was affectionately known!  He turned up on our doorstep one day and pretty much didn't move from that spot.  After a few months, we gave in and let him in and he's settled in perfectly :)

My lovely little devil twins, Harlequin and Tango :)

And I can't leave out this little lady, Tinker.  She's not actually ours but a cat that we're fostering at the moment.

::) Guess you both beat me in the animal department...this time of my life anyway!
I love all animal's...I want to take your sheep dog home Louise and your turtle Tami...they are all great!

When I was a young I had a dog, woolly monkey and an alligator, a snake, and fish...all at the same time in a studio apartment in The Village in Manhattan... ;D

I only have at the moment, my little girl Angel/Yorkie who weighs 5 pounds. In the last few years my 2 cats passed on to Rainbow Bridge and I did not replace them because we started with the fish tanks again. We decided that we can't do everything, so we just stuck to the tanks and Angel.

I also watched my Granddaughter since moving to California 4 1/2 years ago, she will be 6 in Dec. We started watching her when she was almost a year old. She'll be starting Full Time Kindergarden in September. :'(

I'll miss her, but I am sure we will find something to pass our time away...I just can't imagine what...or can I!
 ;D

Poor Harvey has quite a few health issues so I'm afraid he comes with quite a hefty vets bill ;)

A woolly monkey (does quick google search).  I'm sooooo jealous!!!!  Seriously, and a crocodile!  Your apartment must have been the coolest place in town!

Angel is adorable!  I do love yorkies :)

Sorry about your Rainbow Bridge cats.  I have a few that are there too.  I hope they are all playing nicely together xx

I can't imagine those pets! A monkey?! That's the one pet I don't think I could ever own. Mainly because I've heard they are extremely difficult to keep!! I did work at a pet store that had alligators, they were really no where near as terrible as people said. And the babies would squeak at you. Not that you didn't have to be careful around them, you did. But the monitor we had was scarier and inflicted more harm on the employees than all the alligators combined.

I love yorkies, my MIL has one. I didn't think I'd like such a small dog, but she is a blast. She has so much personality, and even though she's the smallest of my MIL 4 dogs, she rules the house.

Louise, sorry to hear about Harvey. Most of my pets are getting up there in years, and I feel like we're always at the vet. So my condolences on the stress and the wallet stress.

We just had one of our cats at the e-vet a couple weeks ago. She was stumbling around like she was drunk. Took her to the vet and she was walking around like normal, and the vet couldn't find anything wrong. So they sent her home and told us just to observe. She's been fine ever since, so a nice emergency vet bill and one stupid cat. Still we wouldn't have done it any different.

I lost a furbaby last year. It was the first cat or major pet death I'd experienced since childhood.  It was really really hard. She was the love of my life, and it took me a few months to not just explode crying every time I thought of her, and I still get choked up when I think of her. I have to share a picture just because she was so full of awesome.

I know all our pets are waiting for us at Rainbow Bridge...
Tami, I love that picture of the kitty with the hat...just too cute...it's hard when our pets pass, sometime's we feel for them more then people, I hate to say. Poor Harvey, I love big dogs, but sometime's they come with their problems too...The monkey wasn't hard to care for at all, and I was young with a clear head...when you're young things seem very easy. HIs name was Charlie, and when we ate dinner at night, he would sit at the table and eat off of our plate's, see what I mean, clear head...never pooped anyplace but his cage, and was always good when I took him out. He sounded like a little baby, and I swear he would call me mama...too funny....I have only one picture of him, it was a polaroid, one day I'll look for it and post it...I haven't come across it in quite a while...lol

What is an SBT? Staffordshire Bull Terrier? I don't know that abbreviation so I'm just guessing.

How does your blind dog do? My MIL's pom is blind, but he does well most of the time. He can even navigate the stairs going up to the bedroom (though can't do the stairs going to the basement, weirdly enough).

I'm jealous of the pond. I keep telling myself I'm going to build one, and never get around to it. Can you hire a neighbor kid to clean it?

I always threaten my husband with building a pond and then converting it to saltwater. :)

I love these animals!  I don't have any pictures of my pets on this laptop, so I will describe them :)

Our dog is Shea.  She is a mix between a black lab and a hound dog.  She's adorable!  She loves to be with her people always.  She is about 50 lbs...big, but not too big.  She's 7 years old.

We have two cats. Sasha is a gray cat, she is almost 3.  She is my daughter's kitty that she got for Christmas 2 years ago. The there is Steve.  He showed up one day, kept sneaking into our house.  We finally let him stay when we got the kitty.

The cats get along well.  But they bother the dog!  They scare the dog.   :D  It's kind of funny, as she is so much bigger, and A DOG!

We have a leopard gecko named Lie Lie.  He belongs to my son.  He's the neatest little guy.  We love to feed him live crickets!

And, the fish.  We have a 60 gallon hexgon-shaped tank.  Right now we have about 10 fish, and an algae eater.  We love listening to the tank at night, it's very soothing.
Hi there!  I'm Tracy!  Mom of 4, wife of 1, caretaker of many!

Your clowns are looking great!!!

Also, your acros make me both sad and jealous. They are beautiful! One day I'll get a decent reef tank set up.

Thanks Tami!  The picture with the diamond goby photobombing the pic makes me laugh every time I see it :P.  I was taking a pic of the clown hosting the derasa clam and the goby was like I need to get in this pic!
