Wanted Macros or smaller seagrasses

« posted: 2 years ago »
I am in the market for some macros for my new, soon to be, seahorse tank. i would like pretty much anything with the exception of Caulerpa prolifera, which I already have. Dragons tongue and red grape are high on my list. If anyone out there has extra LMK. I prefer to go with stuff from other hobbyist and then go to online retailers. I also will be checking LFS for macros as well. I am looking for healthy portions and not 1.5 - 2 inch "frags" as they always disappear in the tank and feel like money wasted.

I am also interested in paddlegrass or other smaller seagrasses. I don't have the sand bed or lighting for turtle grass or other large grass species.

Thanks in advance.

I can send you dragon's breath now and probably red grape caulerpa in a bit when mine grows.  Where are you located?

That is mighty kind of you BUT I think you should wait awhile before you start harvesting your macros. I saw your full tank shot on Reef Central ( I am BlueCat1949 over there) and when the macros start getting out of hand and growing over other things in your tank then you will have to harvest some of them.

I am in SoCal but live in the mountains at 5300 foot elevation so I have winter up here in Idyllwild. Maybe around Feb. or Mar would be better but I guess I wouldn't turn you down if you had excess on hand. I will of course be willing to pay for shipping and heat packs etc. along with any cost you want for your plants ( actually macros are no longer considered plants).

Thanks for you reply. I will keep in touch.

I have a good quantity of the dragon's breath but not nearly as much of the red grape.  If I wait til March, I can probably send you both and maybe even some red titan and rose petal and halimeda too.  If you pay to ship and heat packs  if they are necessary that's good.  I am happy to help a fellow hobbyist out.  I should be able to give you a tennis ball size of dragon's breath but it won't be as big of portion for the others.

Cool. that would be a nice assortment of macros. I want a full on macro tank like I had 8 years ago. I am taking things slowly at the moment because I am working on finishing my wildflower book.
