PE Mysis Harvest and Processing

« posted: 3 years ago »
PE has a couple great videos of how they collect and package their mysis:

To be honest, I'm surprised at the apparent amount of time it takes from harvest to freezing. Their website claims that they are "...ALIVE ON HARVEST and immediately flash frozen in premium condition."  from

Because of their wording, I had always assumed they flash frozen them on the ship. That doesn't appear to be the case. I didn't even see ice in their bin o'mysis. It could just be how it's filmed. But it does make me wonder if the reason I haven't seen good, really white PE mysis is due to handling practices. But I don't really know.
