You guys might be interested in a new book out.  It's by Pamela S. Turner entitled Project Seahorse, with photographs by Scott Tuason.  I've seen the book in our local library and I have to tell you, the photographs are amazing, looking for a copy to buy for myself.

I think Pamela is the winner of the Cybils award for her book The Frog Scientist.  So, if this new book is of the same quality, it's bound to be an award winner.

I do hope it gets the recognition it deserves.  For one, it talks about one specific endangered specie of sea horse: the tiger tail, but it talks about conservation efforts all around the world.  It should make people more aware of the conservation efforts and how to help.  I heard that one part of the book lauds the various efforts of the many people to help the seahorses survive.

I think that it's very important to note that the book focuses on just one Philippine community, which have the best tiger seahorses.  It basically chronicles the efforts of scientists in the region, as well as those involved with Project Seahorse, and one local fisherman who also helped in protecting the seahorses in their area.

If only for the color photographs, I'd buy this book.  Is it available on Amazon?
