My first ever baby H. Comes

Woo hooo! My first baby comes!! From a Tami CB comes and a LFS comes. The other babies have yet to appear so I should have a nice big batch of baby seahorses in a day or two!

Congrats!!  ;D ;D ;D

Expect more to come. As you and I were discussing, they can be tricky to feed at first; getting copepods the first few days is going to be the difficult part. The good news is that you live so close to the ocean, you can possibly collect your own.

Keep us posted, and make note of when he has them. They usually stick to a schedule i.e. if their warning babies are normally a day early, they'll always be a day early.

Interesting development, I found only about 10 in the tank this morning. They either ate them or he hasn't had them all yet. I eventually had to go to work so I collected the few I had. I have the bbs running from yesterday, and with the help from Tami (Thank you Tami!!!) will be going to the beach later tonight. Lets see what I can catch!

The noise I made was comparable to a legitimate *squee*
Congratulations on your adorable baby!
Is there any way to sex them so early?
  • I don't work with seahorses but I am interested in learning about them and maybe working with them someday.
