Sponges

« posted: 1 year ago »
I'm wondering about the possibility of using sponges with my seahorse's.  I've seen some places not to use them, presumably because the glass sponges can irritate the seahorse if it hitches to it, but other's talk about using sponges as hitching posts and to help enhance the color.

Does anyone have sponges with their seahorse's?

Thanks!

I have kept a variety of sponges in our seahorse displays and never have had any irritation issues.  My favorite are the smooth orange tree/finger sponges as they tend to be a bit more hardy compared to some of the other varieties. Good luck.

I have some natural pink (not particularly attractive)sponges that are one my live rock that have not had any negative effect on my seahorses.
